Grace Bacon

GENESEO — Grace “Winnie” Bacon, 100, of Geneseo, formerly of Tiskilwa, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2012, at Hammond-Henry Long Term Care in Geneseo.

Born Nov. 12, 1911, in Tiskilwa to Paul and Cora Belle (Pierson) VanDervort, she married Donald A. Bacon Sept. 2, 1934, in Tiskilwa. He died May 14, 1984.

She was a graduate of Tiskilwa High School, Class of 1929. She was a house wife.

She played the organ for the First Baptist Church in Tiskilwa for 73 years and also had played piano for silent films in Tiskilwa. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Tiskilwa.

She is survived by seven nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by one sister.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Fiocchi-Jensen Funeral Home, Princeton, with Deacon John Murphy and Jack Smith officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Bloom Cemetery, Tiskilwa.

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
