WALNUT — Fred H. Woellert, 96, of Walnut died Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2012, at Walnut Manor Nursing Home.

He was born on Aug. 27, 1915, in Ottawa, the son of Charles and Fredericka (Yenne) Woellert. He married Darlene Bohm on July 4, 1966, in Manlius. She preceded him in death on Feb. 25, 2001.

Fred farmed in the Tampico area all of his lifetime, retiring in 1982. He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church of Walnut and served on the church council.

Fred is survived by two sons, Samuel Meyer of Alamo, Texas, and Jim (Pam) Meyer of Walnut; five grandchildren, David Meyer, Mary Chambers, Lori Icenogle, Steven (Tami) Meyer and Andy (Heather) Meyer; five great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Darlene; and one brother, Carl.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Walnut, with the Rev. David Menet, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Walnut Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church.

A memorial has been established in his memory to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and Walnut Fire and Rescue.
