Farmers market planning meeting set

PRINCETON — Anyone interested in becoming a vendor at the farmers market in Princeton is invited to attend a meeting at 9 a.m. Feb. 28 at the Farm Bureau Building in Princeton. There will be guest speakers to provide information about what vendors need to know to prepare for the upcoming farmers market sales season.

Kurt Kuchle from the Bureau County Health Department will discuss the Cottage Foods Act. Deb Piper from the Health Department has been invited to speak about the WIC/Senior Citizen’s Farmers Market coupons. Kim Frey from the Chamber will be present to spotlight ideas planned for the market this summer aimed at re-energizing the market atmosphere.

Also, Rich and Dar Knipe will present information on Market Maker, a web-based resource that connects farmers, fishermen, processors, distributors, food retailers and consumers. They will show how vendors can expand their customer base with just a few clicks of the mouse.
