SPRING VALLEY — Both Princeton Logan squads fell in Tuesday’s semifinals of the Starved Rock Conference Tournament at Spring Valley JFK.

The seventh-graders played top-seeded Peru to a 13-25, 19-25 defeat. In the eighth grade, No. 3 Logan dropped the first set to No. 2 Streator 18-25 and rallied to tie the second at 24 before falling 24-26.

Logan will play for third place in Thursday’s finals. The seventh-graders will face No. 3 Mendota at 4 p.m. with the eighth-graders to meet No. 4 Ottawa at 5 p.m. Peru and Streator clash in the title matches at both grade levels.

At Princeton. Madison Menzel served 16 points for Princeton St. Louis eighth grade in a 25-9, 25-16 win over Deer Park. Rebecca Purshinski had 17 points for the St. Louis JV.

At Dimmick: Courtney Kobold had 12 and Jenna Lusietto and Madison Soldati five each to lead the Cherry seventh-graders to a 25-23, 25-14 win over Dimmick. Cherry won the eighth-grade match 25-14, 25-10 behind Bailey Manfredini (11) and Abby Hoscheid (9).
