PRINCETON – In an effort to support the future of agriculture by molding young leaders, 1st Farm Credit Services has donated $8,000 to more than 25 groups with a similar mission.

Locally, young leader programs at the Farm Bureaus in Bureau and Marshall/Putnam counties received a $300 donation.

“As the average age of the American farmer increases, it is going to be up to the next, younger generation to take over farming operations,” said Terry L. Hinds, senior vice president of corporate relations at 1st Farm Credit Services. “Young leader groups are helping the future generations of farmers learn the leadership skills needed to keep agriculture strong, successful and feeding the world.”

1st Farm Credit Services also supports young and beginning farmers with a variety of financing programs and educational opportunities offered by the cooperative.
