Ladd Village Board 1-24

LADD — The Ladd Village Board took action on the following items at its meeting Jan. 24:

• Heard the pipe is in the ground, connected and working for the outfall sewer replacement project. The project will be completed in the spring when the ground is in better condition. A change order for the project was approved resulting in a contract reduction of $10,450.

• Heard the plans are complete and the permit forms are signed for the Cedar and Iowa Water Main Replacement project. A bid date of Feb. 22 was set for the project along with Project C of the water main rehabilitation project.

• Heard the radio license has been renewed. Dixon Motorola was contacted for a quote on eight mobile units and two base stations to become narrow band compliant.

• Approved a pay request of $296,035.65 from Brandt Builders for the outfall sewer replacement project.

• Approved liquor licenses for Casey’s, Cancun, Dick’s, Softails, Lanuti’s, Rip’s and Ladd Lanes.

• Changed the March 27 regular meeting to March 22.

• Heard the village has received a $25,000 Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant for replacement street lighting and lighting improvements at village buildings.

• Heard of a movement to change the name of Negro Creek.

• Received notice that Professor Giorgio Ardeni will soon be shipping 200 copies of his book from Italy to Ladd.
